The Bay

If you follow me on other platforms, I’m sorry for the spam in general… but yes, this post is about Byron. With the risk of sounding like the most basic blogger — it is one of my favourite places and after visiting, I am always tempted to post more photos with the classic “throwback to better times”, “wish I was here right now”, etc. and so, I may as well avoid further annoyance through compiling all those photos into one post.

Wategos

My most recent trip had to be one of the most satisfying as I had just finished the last of my uni exams the morning before we set off. A BBQ at sunset on Wategos gave a whole new definition to freedom.

Set the mood…

G&T’s, BBQ, sunset, waves crashing, Jack Johnson inspired playlist, good company

After sunset, we continued on with our friends to Tallow’s for more drinks by the fire. An absolutely swell evening under the stars.

It’s worth spending two nights especially if you require a good morning’s recovery from hitting the town the night before (and in prep for the coming night). Part of said recovery should be spent walking along the beach, gulping down Byron’s top-notch coffee, indulging in the many other delights, and even popping into the ocean for a quick dip.

Ah so fresh

Ballina, a mere 30 mins drive up the coast, was breathtaking at twilight. My camera roll was filled to capacity that evening, but here are a few of my favourite snaps.

The last day of a beach trip is always the most depressing particularly when the reality hits that you’re heading back home, wherever that may be.

Picture perfect

Of course Wategos was on the table, but this time, we ventured a little further to find this gem… at the most easterly point of Australia.

This is apparently the perfect spot (according to locals) to watch whales and dolphins, and even sea turtles!

THANK-YOU BYRON for another unforgettable time ♥️✨
